GMA Risk Control wants to encourage the awareness of the hazards and controls surrounding firefighter cancer across the State of Georgia. These resources are intended for internal use only and should be reviewed for applicability, and to create awareness for employee and local government safety.
Georgia Firefighters’ Cancer Benefit Program
The Georgia Firefighters’ Cancer Benefit Program is designed to help bridge financial gaps firefighters encounter following a diagnosis of cancer. It helps with extra expense items such as deductibles, co-pays and out of network treatments or to offset loss of income. The benefits provide a little peace of mind so the firefighter can focus on healing.
Excellence In Policing
The Excellence in Policing Certification Program is a cooperative effort between the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police (GACP) and the Georgia Interlocal Risk Management Agency (GIRMA) to help local law enforcement agencies mitigate potential liability. The certificate is good for three years. GMA Risk Control Services will provide consultation services to governing authorities participating in GIRMA to receive a reduction in their law enforcement liability premiums upon the request of those such participating employers.
